Safety Rodeo

The latest BC Hydro Safety Rodeo was held in Surrey in the summer of 2008.  This event showcases trade skills and the latest safe work methods and is a fun event for employees and their families.  Activities include competitions, displays and demonstrations by power line technicians, electricians, the Emergency Response Team, as well as driving competitions, live music, games and rides. 

During the last Safety Rodeo, the Power Pioneers took the opportunity to have fun and raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital.  Nearly 90 volunteers donated more than 1,100 hours toward rodeo planning and events, including planning meetings, judging events, setting up displays, and cleaning up the rodeo site.  In honour of their contribution BC Hydro donated $30,000 to the Miracle Million Campaign. 

The date has not been set for the next Safety Rodeo.
