Victoria – 2025 Christmas Luncheon

Branch News |

The Victoria Branch of the BC Hydro Power Pioneers held their Christmas luncheon on December 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Langford.

The event was attended by 37 members and guests, including Ted Olynyk, BC Hydro’s Community Relations Manager from Nanaimo and Warren Quan, Provincial Power Pioneers Vice President and his wife, Mona.  As always, we look forward to having Ted, Warren and Mona back again next year. 😊

Our members donated 57 children’s books that were given to the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.  This year the books will be sent to Q’walayu House, Campbell River’s ”Home Away from Home”.  We also donated 5 boxes of food to the Goldstream Food Bank along with a cash donation of $340.00. This amount included $220.00 in member donations and $120.00, the proceeds of the 50/50 draw.  The 50/50 draw was won by Mary Canning.

Everyone went home with a gift.  Thanks, in part, to the $550 gift card we gratefully receive each year to use on the Power Pioneers Gear Store.

Thanks go to all the members who helped make this another fun event.

Due to the fact, the first Thursday of the month falls on January 1st, New Years Day, our next luncheon meeting at the Royal Canadian Legion in Langford will be held on the second Thursday of the month, January 8, 2026.

We hope to see you there!

Happy New Year 🎉
