On June 1st Steve Borradaile presented the 2026 Community Service Award of $500 to Kira Wiedeman.

Kira is a grade twelve student at Royal Bay Secondary and is off to university in the fall to pursue a biology degree.  She plans to become a teacher and is still undecided as to whether she wants to teach at the elementary school level or high school sciences.

The volunteer work she currently does with the youth in her community is very important to her and she plans to continue thoughout her studies at university.
