Afeefa Ahsan—Community Service Award Winner

Surrey student, Afeefa Ahsan, attends Princess Margaret Secondary.  

Her English Teacher writes:

“Afeefa excels not only academically but also in her commitment to community involvement.”  

Here are some of Afeefa’s accomplishments:

• worked with Canucks Autism Network Summer Camps
• volunteered 58 hours with autistic children
• joined Big Brothers/Big Sisters Vancouver, working 10 months one-on-one with young teens in the Teen Mentoring Program
• volunteered at the local thrift store
• volunteered at the Cloverdale Rodeo in 2025 serving breakfast and cleaning up
• volunteered at (BANK OF MONTREAL) BMO’S Vancouver Marathon, the largest running event in Canada; all funds raised are distributed to several charities

Lastly, Afeefa volunteers with the Surrey Crime Prevention Society, where the members patrol the neighbourhoods to report any suspicious activities, check with kids “hanging out” and report any damaged or potentially stolen vehicles.
