Vancouver Branch Meeting

Tuesday, October 11, 2022

Welcome Back to our first meeting together after over 2.5 years !

Following Centre Room evacuation instructions and territorial acknowledgement of the First Nations by John Davies, the President of the branch, members introduced themselves.  A few new members were welcomed to their first luncheon meeting of the Vancouver branch.

A video on the Great Lodges of the National Parks (Grand Canyon) was presented, highlighting the spectacular lodges.  There was lots of time to chat and catch up with everyone.

The business part of the meeting then commenced.

Barbara Conrad and Rob Kikkert provided updates from the AGM held in Harrison Hot Springs September 25-27, followed by the Jamboree September 27-30.  Both the AGM and the Jamboree were very successful.

Starting November 15, there will be a new 10-week series of presentations from Linda Fawcus of Gluu Society:  How to be Unscammable.  Power Pioneers will receive access to the series via email, and family and friends of Power Pioneers are welcome.  Refer to the Provincial eNews of October 24th for further information.  To register go to:

Rob Kikkert spoke about the 2022 Community Service Awards throughout the Province and the incredibly talented young students that excel within their communities.  A Special Edition – Provincial Update – On Community Service Awards 2022 was forwarded to all members of the Power Pioneers.

Rob Kikkert also informed the group about the 2024 Jamboree – A Fall Cruise to Alaska.  More information to follow.

Elly Tower advised that the branch planning meeting will be taking place on October 18; agenda and information will be forwarded to the Planning committee members.

The November 8 branch meeting will include a presentation from Crimestoppers, as well as elections for the Vancouver Branch executive.  If anyone is interested in standing for election to the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary, please contact Barbara Conrad at
