With sad hearts we announce—–Charles Preston peacefully passed away on March 29, 2026 at the age of 92 —Chuck was born January 21, 1934 in Williams Lake, B.C.

He was a true gentleman and a loving father, Papa, and Great Papa.  He is remembered by his loving children Kelly(Colleen) Preston, Kelowna, BC; Maxine (Bob) Jack, Calgary, AB; and Sandra-Dee (Warren) Paugh, Nanaimo, BC; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Chuck was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Deanna Preston on January 25, 2024. Chuck and Dee-Dee celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Chuck lived most of his life in Nanaimo with some short stops in Williams Lake, Lac La Hache, Prince George and Victoria. Chuck worked for BC Hydro as a Power Lineman for 40 years, retiring in 1997 when he was presented with a trophy for working those 40 years accident free.

Chuck will be remembered for his love of Rv’ing—Pacific Playground, Vancouver Island and Holiday Park, Kelowna were two of their favourite places to relax.  Chuck liked walking his little dog Abby, tending his pristine flower gardens and dining out with Dee-Dee and his visits with family and friends playing cards–Uno and Nanaimo rummy amongst his favourites.

Our Dad (Papa) will be in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 21, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Sand’s Funeral Chapel, #1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, B.C.
