South Interior – 2025 Christmas Luncheon and Donations

Branch News |

Eighty-two members and guests registered to attend our annual Christmas Gala held December 2 at the Schubert Centre. With no guest speaker available, our retiring President, Stew Wallach, presented a seasonal message from the Provincial Power Pioneers.

Once again Schubert Centre Chef Deep and his volunteers provided the opulent buffet that we have come to expect. This year we opted for a virtual choir playing recorded seasonal favourites in the background.

Our volunteers are to be commended for an extraordinary effort in successfully organizing this event.

As usual the Provincial Power Pioneers subsidized one half of the members’ cost of the meal, making it an unbeatable bargain in the age of escalating meal prices. The opportunity to mingle and visit fellow Pioneers was itself worth the price of admission.

Donations

Members generously donated a number of books plus $100 cash for the Literacy Book Program collection jar. Debbie Raymer is giddy with excitement looking forward to a book-shopping spree for the Literacy program!

We were pleased to collect $266.65 in the Food Bank jar, which will add to our scheduled branch donation of $500 to the Salvation Army.
