We’re ready for our Small is Mighty Month of May!
Dear BC Hydro and Power Pioneers Small is Mighty Campaign Volunteers:
Our BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) Small is Mighty (SIM) campaign is here. We’ve spoken with you and/or sent you an email letting you know about our campaign this year, and we are now ready to roll it out.
We can start getting ready for the campaign by showing off some of the latest Small is Mighty collection at the Power Pioneers Gear Store:
- New this year are BCCH Pet Therapy colouring books along with other items in recognition of the program we are continuing to sponsor, visit our Gear Store here Power Pioneers Gear Store
- Small is Mighty Teddy Bears with their very own ’Small is Mighty’ t-shirt are back, along with adult-sized T-shirts offered free to our Hydro and Power Pioneers SIM volunteers. It’s our way of saying thank you for your time campaigning for this great cause. Click here to order.
- For all other orders on the Gear Store, 10% of all sales goes to BCCH.
Our Small is Mighty campaign starts May 1st and runs for the entire month of May.

- This year you have the option to register your own individual fundraising page. Click on the REGISTER TO FUNDRAISE button to get started on your own page where you can send an individual link or your QR code to your donors and track your progress.
- Alternatively, you can direct your potential donors to the DONATE button at the top of the page where they can make a general donation. Share this generic link with your colleagues, friends and family.

- Communication email for Volunteers to Donors – The Ask
- This is a sample Ask you can email to your colleagues, friends and family. Feel free to personalize it or create your own.
- A PowerPoint presentation and ‘Kahoot’ quiz – Link Here if you would like to present an overview on our campaign to your colleagues. These files are available to Hydro employees only at this time.
- Letter to Donors
- These letters are meant to be printed and left on the counter at your work location or at businesses in your local community. The letters include a QR code to make it easier for supporters to donate. Link Here.
- Update the letter to include your contact information at the bottom as needed.

- You can print and post in your lunch room or present at a meeting. You can also include this with your communication to your donors.

- For those of you that requested Small is Mighty posters, they have been shipped and are now on their way to your preferred location.

The Campaign kick-off events:
- Tuesday, May 5, in the Dunsmuir lobby from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
- Wednesday, May 6, in the Edmonds lobby from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
We promise a fun event with games and prizes. If you are in the area, please come by and meet your campaign colleagues and our BCCH representative to hear more about the campaign and our sponsorship of the Pet Therapy program. We will also have pet therapy dogs at the event!
Volunteer Draws
But wait, there’s more. As an additional thank you for your volunteer efforts, your name will be entered into a draw for a number of exciting prizes including:
- Two tickets to a Vancouver Whitecaps game (regular season)
- Two tickets to a Vancouver Canucks hockey game (regular season)
- Vancouver Whitecaps jersey
- Vancouver Canucks jersey
- $150 gift certificate for the Power Pioneers Gear Store or for a donation to a charity of your choice
We need your photos
We are thrilled you are joining the team of dedicated volunteers all around the Province that are making a difference in the lives of the kids in BC that need our help. We would love it if you could take pictures of your team having fun with the campaign, and send any photos you have to Brian Daniel so we can share how we are supporting the kids at BC Children’s Hospital.
