Upper Island Literacy Donation to Seaview Elementary School

Branch News |
On May 25, 2022, The Upper Island branch of the Power Pioneers presented Jolaine Canty, librarian at Seaview Elementary School in Lantzville with our literacy donation. Jolaine was very pleased to receive 30 books and a cheque for $ 500. She especially appreciates the opportunity to purchase needed books and to buy locally where possible.

Seaview Elementary School is one of the finalists for an environmental award as well. The school have purchased composters that turn their lunch scraps etc. into compost within a day. They use the compost for their garden. It is one of many things the kids are doing.
