Upper Island Drop in 6 June, 2023

We welcomed our special guest Tina Lutz, Manager of Corporate and Community Engagement at Nanaimo Regional District Hospital Foundation.

Tina is well known to some of our Upper Island members who always joined in to raise funds for Heart and Stroke with the Big Bike Ride. Tina was the Co-ordinator for the Big Bike Ride in Nanaimo.

Tina brought us up to date on upcoming new projects for the Nanaimo Regional District Hospital. One of them is our new Cancer Clinic.  Another is a new hospital for Nanaimo.

Another project is the Nanaimo Lifeline Program (250-739-5770 Nanaimo & 250-947-8213 Oceanside). More information is available at www.nanaimolifeline.ca.

Nanaimo Lifeline is on a mission to give Central Island families security and peace of mind with their number one Medical Alert Service. Owned and operated by the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, Lifeline is 100% Nanaimo based and proceeds directly support the critical care needs of our community. Also, because Lifeline is monitored here on Central Vancouver Island, response times from local authorities (ambulance and fire) typically are faster. Schedule a chat with our local response team members today to learn more about Canada’s most trusted medical alert service

Tina also gave us information on The Elderly and how to prevent falls.
