The winner of the Upper Island 2025 Community Service award is Kacia Vos.

The Upper Islsnd Branch team was very impressed by her enthusiastic involvement in her Community. Kacia applied for the Rotary Youth Exchange program in grade 10 and also joined her high school Interact Club, helping to organize local student events.

She then spent a year in Norway in Grade 11 as an exchange student volunteering at the local Rotary Club and partipating in environmental initiatives.

Kacia also participates in community activities including beach cleanups and working in the  homeless community kitchen. She also volunteered at the BCSPCA helping with cat care and cleaning.

The team were able to visit Kacia in Campbell River at her High School on June 4, 2025. They discovered a delightful young lady who welcomed them to her school. The team had the pleasure of awarding her the Service award in person.
