Branch News |

Shirley Gratton and her three person committee have reviewed the four applications from our area, and have selected Dani Hatt of Cawston as this year’s recipient of our Community Service Award.
Dani’s application highlighted her commitment to her community, safety and the environment, while maintaining a balance between her education and volunteer work.

The Grist Mill in Keremeos is included in the many community activities Dani participates in.  On Wednesday June 25 at 3:00 p.m. a special Strawberry cake tea will be held at the Grist Mill to commemorate Dani’s award.

Dani plans to further her education to advance her career goal of becoming a chef.

Shirley’s committee was also able to recommend a candidate for the second round of Community Service Awards.

Scarlett Steyn of Penticton was the second successful award winner. Her participation with the Penticton Order of the Eagles special events among other volunteer activities highlighting Scarlett’s contribution’s to the community. An interest in robotics has lead to plans to continue her education in engineering.

Thank you to the work of Shirley and her committee, and we wish both Dani and Scarlett success in their future endeavours.
