2025 Prince George Regional Heritage Fair
The Prince George Regional Heritage Fair, was held on May 8, 2025 at the Prince George Public Library. The Heritage Fair allows students from grades four to ten to develop and research projects on topics related to Canadian heritage. These projects are evaluated by volunteer judges in order to send three students from our region to the Provincial Heritage Fair, which will be held in Victoria from July 1-4. Judges also recommend students who display excellent work, thorough research, and enthusiasm for various local and provincial awards.
The role of the judges is to support and encourage students’ enthusiasm for history through morning judging sessions. Al Beeson and Tim Thompson of the Northern Branch Power Pioneers volunteered their time as judges.
Krystal Leason, Executive Director, forwarded these photos of the two projects that won the BC Hydro awards at this year’s PG Regional Heritage Fair.
Alexi Solmonson and Domka Nezhinsky were chosen for their project, WWI
Azaria Abrahamson and Ellie Sabatino were chosen for their project, Quarter Horses in Canada.
