Dear BC Hydro employees and Power Pioneers campaign volunteers,
Our BC Children’s Hospital Small is Mighty campaign is launching this week!
We’ve spoken with you or sent you an email letting you know about the Small is Mighty campaign in the mighty month of May, and we are now ready to roll it out!
The Small is Mighty campaign starts Tuesday, April 29 with a kickoff in the Hydro Dunsmuir lobby and Thursday, May 1 at the Hydro Edmonds lobby and runs for the entire month of May around the province.
We can start getting ready for the campaign by showing off some of the latest Small is Mighty (SIM) collection at the Power Pioneers Gear Store. New this year are pet related items in recognition of the BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) Pet Therapy program that we are supporting as part of our campaign. Teddy Bears with their very own Small is Mighty t-shirt are back with $5 for each bear sold going to the campaign. If you didn’t get your shirt last year, there are free adult-sized T-shirts offered only to our BC Hydro and Power Pioneer SIM volunteers. It’s our way of saying thank you for your time campaigning for this great cause. Click here to order.
For all other orders, 10% of all sales goes to BCCH. Share the Power Pioneers Gear Store. link with your colleagues, friends and family so they can get a head start and show their support for this great cause.
Below are more links and descriptions to sample communications you can use to campaign, along with information regarding how the hospital helps kids around the province and the BCCH Pet Therapy program we are supporting:
- Communication Email for Volunteers to Donors – The Ask
- This is the “Ask” you can personalize and email to your colleagues, friends and family.
- Letter to Donors
- These letters are meant to be printed and left at your work location or at businesses in your local community. When your colleagues come into the office, they can help themselves to find out more about the campaign. The letters include a QR code to make it easier for supporters to donate.
- BC Children’s Hospital – A Mighty Reach
- BC Children’s Hospital – Mighty Strides Start With You
- BC Children’s Hospital – The Parent Peer Support Program
- BC Children’s Hospital Pet Therapy Program
- Power Pioneers Gear Store – SIM collection and more
Please note that BC Children’s Hospital has revised their donation system this year by moving to one donation link and a single QR code instead of using personalized volunteer links and QR codes. Please see the new QR code at the bottom of this email. Donors will have the option to show their names on the BCCH donation site.
For those of you that requested Small is Mighty posters, they have been shipped are now on their way to your preferred location.
If you are at Edmonds this Thursday, please come by and meet your campaign colleagues and our BC Children’s Hospital representative to hear more about the campaign and our new project, the Pet Therapy Program at BC Children’s Hospital. There are some special furry guests that will be there to meet you (during the lunch hour) and you can spin-to-win prizes too!
There’s more! As an additional thank-you for your volunteer efforts, your name will be entered into a draw for a number of exciting prizes including:
- Two tickets to the Vancouver Whitecaps game on Sunday, June 8, 6pm, versus the Seattle Sounders
- Vancouver Whitecaps soccer ball and scarf
- Vancouver Canucks jersey
- $150 gift certificate for the Power Pioneers Gear Store or a donation to a charity of your choice.
We are thrilled you are joining the team of dedicated volunteers all around the Province that are making a noted difference in the lives of the kids in BC that need our help. We would love it if you could take pictures of your team having fun with the campaign and send our way so we can share how you are supporting the kids at BC Children’s Hospital.
If you have any questions, please email Brian Daniel at bsdaniel@shaw.ca
Thank you for helping keep our communities strong. We wish you and your family well.
Sincerely, the Small is Mighty Campaign Committee
