100 Mile – Volunteer Hours Donations 2024

Branch News |

In 2023,  22 members of the 100 Mile Power Pioneers  entered Volunteer Hours.  That was an amazing feat for a little group which consists of only 26 members.  There were 5 members from Lillooet contributing plus 17 members from the 100 Mile area.  The Volunteer Hours entered gave us a total of $440 to contribute to charities in our areas.

Mike Bachman presented Tracey Haddow, Program Director of 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society, with a cheque for $170.  Hospice provides a volunteer service dedicated to the compassionate care of persons in the community with life threatening or terminal illness. This care also includes the families of the person receiving care.

Dot Buckoll presented, Sean Empey, a member of the South Cariboo Search and Rescue Society, with a cheque for $170.  The Rescue Society’s Mission is to provide search and rescue services to those in need.  The South Cariboo Search and Rescue conducts approximately 25 ground searches per year.  Donations go toward training and the purchase of equipment.

Lillooet donated $100 to Lillooet and District Search and Rescue Society.  This Society provides highway rescue, rope rescue, swiftwater rescue and assists other emergency services in Lillooet.
