The 100 Mile Power Pioneers were again able to organize much appreciated donations to Lillooet, 100 Mile House and Lac La Hache. The vote by email allowed every 100 Mile Power Pioneer member an opportunity to make suggestions and vote for a donation to the charity of their choice. The vote was unanimous to donate to the same charities as last year.
The Christmas Charity Donations for 2023 were:
The Lac La Hache Fire Department Auxiliary received $150 for Christmas Hampers. This year 26 hampers containing food and gifts will be delivered on Friday, December 22nd to families and individuals in need at this time of year.
Mike and Dot presented the donation to the Lac La Hache Volunteer Fire Department.
100 Mile Food Bank received $150 for Turkey Day. This will provide a turkey for each of 3 families.
The Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre Touch of Christmas Campaign received $150 to assist families needing a little extra help during the Christmas Season. This donation goes toward creating Christmas Baskets filled with grocery cards, local merchant gift cards and gifts.
South Cariboo Health Foundation Starry Nights Fundraiser also received $150. This year’s theme is To Space and Beyond. Donations will go toward purchasing a new patient monitoring computer.
Lillooet received $200 to allow Lillooet members to choose a charity or charities for their donation. Their choice was to donate $200 to Mountainview Lodge. Mountainview Lodge is a Long-Term Care Facility that is attached to Lillooet District Hospital. The donation will go toward buying personal items needed by the residents.
