Christmas Hampers for Lac La Hache

Branch News |
Lac La Hache Fire Chief, Terry Murphy, received a $100 donation from 100 Mile Power Pioneers.  Dot Buckoll presented the cheque which will be given to the Lac La Hache Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary to purchase food and other items for the Christmas Hampers that are given out each year to families in need.

In 2016 there were 23 hampers distributed to singles, couples and families.  Boxes are placed at various locations in the community during the month before Christmas to receive donations of non-perishable food items, but money is invaluable for purchasing perishable food  as well as toys and gifts on sale to begin to replenish the stock for the next year.  Each year Santa Claus and the volunteer fire fighters distribute the hampers on the last school day before Christmas.  It’s an exciting time in the small community of Lac La Hache.

Fire Chief, Terry Murphy, appreciates our continued support.
