Christmas Donations by 100 Mile Power Pioneers

Branch News |
The 100 Mile Power Pioneers were pleased to once again be able to make their annual Christmas Donations to organizations in their communities.

Fire Chief Terry Murphy received the donation of $150 on behalf of the Lac La Hache Fire Department Auxiliary.  This donation was given for the annual Christmas Hampers that the Auxiliary prepares for families in need of help at Christmas.  Last year 28 families were aided by the efforts of the auxiliary and the Lac La Hache Community.  People in the community donate funds directly to the fire department and/or place non perishable food in boxes scattered throughout the downtown area.  At the Lac La Hache annual Remembrance Day Service,  Fire Chief Murphy publicly thanked the Power Pioneers for their continued support of this annual event.

Donations of $150 each were also given to the following organizations:

  • One Hundred Mile Food Bank for Turkey Day. Our donation allows the Food Bank to buy 3 turkeys for Christmas.
  • South Cariboo Health Foundation Fundraiser received the donation for the Wound Care Clinic.
  • Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre Touch of Christmas Campaign  provides Christmas Baskets to families in need of assistance.

A donation of $300 was given to Lillooet for Mountain View Lodge.  The goal of this retirement home is to provide seniors with the best quality of life possible.  This Christmas each resident will receive a piece of adaptable clothing.
