GETTING READY FOR THE 2012 HYDRECS CAMPAIGN

For more than 60 years BC Hydro employees and retirees have been contributing to charities in our local communities. Since 1989, this charitable giving has been facilitated through The BC Hydro Employees’ Community Services (HYDRECS) Fund.

“Over time, the HYDRECS committees have excelled in building relationships with organizations whose stories have inspired us all. But it is only with the generosity of employees and retirees that we truly are able to make a difference in our communities,” says Bree Kozak, the HYDRECS Fund Committee Chair. “We encourage you to get involved in whatever way you can – by being a canvasser, donating through the campaign, or getting out and helping in your community. Every little bit does help.”

The HYDRECS 2012 Campaign will run from November 1 to November 15, 2011. This year’s campaign will be a celebration of the time and effort BC Hydro employees and retirees put into volunteering with HYDRECS, and the impact all of our dollars have had over the past 60 years.

“Community organizations continue to struggle in these economic hard times and we encourage our members to support the 2012 HYDRECS campaign,” says Gwenne Farrell, Vice-President, COPE 378. “COPE 378 is incredibly proud of how our members have committed their time and money to HYDRECS over the past 20 plus years.  In the end it is community groups that truly benefit from the employee and retiree generosity.”

”We want to thank the HYDRECS Committee members and Canvassers, who over the years, have championed giving back where we live,” says Michelle Laurie, President, IBEW Local 258. “We hope that all BC Hydro employees who are able, will continue to take the opportunity to make a difference in their community.”

Note: Campaign Pledge forms and information was mailed to all retirees in September. Remember the deadline for donations is 15 November 2011.
Any donations after that date cannot be accepted so please mail in your donations early.  Thank you!
