Today, BC Hydro is pared down, reshaped, and concentrates on its core businesses of generating and distributing electricity.  It is not the same company as in years gone by.  It is different.  And it is very good at what it does.  BC Hydro has, without a question, benefited from the legacy of dedication and quality left by previous generations of employees - as those employees benefited from their predecessors.  Today's BC Hydro will leave a clean, low-cost, and highly reliable system that underpins British Columbians' lives not only by lighting and heating their homes, but by powering industry and paying a substantial financial dividend to the provincial government.
