BC Electric encouraged its employees to get involved in all sorts of extracurricular activities, from glee clubs to cricket teams. Clubs for tennis, snooker, drama, swimming, hiking, gardening, athletics, basketball, soccer and many other activities were formed. The company even had a "holiday colony" at White Rock, renting its employees lovely cottages for six dollars per week.
